Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
This Policy explains what information the operator of RelaDate collects, why it is used, when it may be shared, and the choices and rights available to you.
1. Who is responsible and where this Policy applies
The operator identified through RelaDate’s official contact or legal information is responsible for personal data processed through the website, account features, matching, messages, voice messages, gifts, notifications, support, and related services (the “Service”).
This Policy applies when you visit or use the Service. It does not control independent websites, social networks, payment providers, or other third-party services.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: username, email address, password credentials in protected form, language, and account settings.
- Dating profile information: display name, age or birthdate, gender and match preferences, biography, interests, relationship intentions, city or approximate location, and other profile fields you choose to complete.
- Photos and media: profile photos, uploaded content, and voice-message recordings.
- Communications: messages with members, reports, blocks, safety information, support requests, and communications with us.
- Transactions: order, currency, balance, gift, premium-feature, and transaction status information when paid features are enabled. Full card credentials are normally handled by the selected payment provider rather than stored by RelaDate.
- Social sign-in: information authorized by you and returned by an enabled social-login provider.
- Phone sign-in: if you enable it, your verified mobile number and verification time. One-time SMS codes are handled by Twilio Verify and are not stored by RelaDate.
- Spotify music: when you voluntarily connect Spotify, we receive your Spotify display name, public playlists, and top tracks. We store an encrypted read-only refresh token so you can update the music you choose to display.
Information collected automatically
- IP address, browser and device information, request time, referring page, language, session identifiers, and security logs;
- Service activity such as login, profile views, searches, likes, matches, encounters, messages, notifications, blocks, reports, and feature use; and
- approximate or profile-based location information used for nearby discovery. Precise device location is collected only when the feature requests it and you permit it.
Sensitive information: Dating profiles and conversations may reveal sexual orientation, relationship preferences, health, religion, ethnicity, or other sensitive matters. Share only what you are comfortable making available through the Service.
3. How we use information
We use personal data to:
- create and secure accounts, authenticate members, and provide requested settings;
- send and validate short-lived SMS codes when you choose phone sign-in;
- display profiles and photos, suggest nearby or compatible members, and operate likes, matches, messages, voice messages, gifts, and notifications;
- display only the Spotify playlist and songs you explicitly select for your public dating profile;
- personalize discovery results using profile choices, location, activity, and preferences;
- detect spam, scams, prohibited links, abusive behavior, fake accounts, security incidents, and violations of our Terms;
- investigate reports, moderate content, handle appeals, enforce account restrictions, and protect members;
- process enabled purchases, maintain transaction records, and prevent payment fraud;
- respond to support and privacy requests, maintain the Service, diagnose errors, and understand performance; and
- comply with legal obligations, preserve evidence, establish or defend legal claims, and respond to lawful requests.
4. Legal grounds
Depending on where you live, we process information because it is necessary to provide the Service you requested, because you gave consent, because we or others have legitimate interests that do not override your rights, or because processing is required by law. Legitimate interests include account security, fraud prevention, member safety, moderation, Service improvement, and defending legal claims.
Where sensitive information requires consent, you provide that consent by choosing to add or disclose it. You may withdraw consent, but previously lawful processing remains valid and some features may no longer be available.
6. Visibility and your choices
Your profile is designed to be discovered by other eligible members. Review profile text and photos carefully; do not publish a home address, financial information, identity documents, workplace schedule, or anything that reveals a precise routine or location.
You can edit available profile and account settings, control optional information, block members, report concerns, and stop sharing new information. Deleting a message or account may not remove copies already seen, saved, or lawfully retained by another member.
7. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing; receive a portable copy; withdraw consent; or appeal a privacy decision. The Service includes account settings and a data-request function that may help exercise some of these rights.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Rights can be limited where information must be retained for safety, fraud prevention, another person’s rights, legal compliance, or legal claims. You may also complain to the privacy or data-protection authority responsible in your location.
8. How long information is kept
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service. After deletion, some data may remain temporarily in backups or be retained where needed for fraud prevention, repeat-offender controls, payment and tax records, report investigations, legal obligations, disputes, or the protection of members.
A linked phone number remains on your account until you remove phone sign-in or delete the account, subject to limited security, abuse-prevention, backup, and legal retention. Twilio applies its own retention practices to verification data it processes.
Retention depends on the data’s purpose, sensitivity, legal requirements, risk, and whether it can be deleted or anonymized. We do not promise a single retention period for every category where the Service does not enforce one.
9. International data transfers
Hosting and service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers and maintain protections appropriate to the information and processing involved.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No website, transmission, or storage system is completely secure. Protect your password, use a trusted device, sign out from shared devices, and notify support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. Adults only
RelaDate is for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit minors to create accounts. If you believe a minor is using the Service or that information about a minor has been submitted, report it immediately so it can be investigated and removed where appropriate.
12. Cookies and similar technologies
We use session, login, language, and feature-preference cookies as explained in our Cookie Policy. Optional third-party providers may use their own technologies when their features are enabled and selected.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the Service, law, or data practices change. We will publish the updated version and revise the effective date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or request consent.
14. Contact
For privacy questions or requests, use the support, contact, or data-request tools available through RelaDate. The operator should publish its legal name, postal address, privacy contact, and any required data-protection representative before public launch.
